For over 35 years, Dog Guru has focused on education that keeps dogs in homes. We’ve consistently warned against one-size-fits-all spay and neuter decisions, and against using Prozac as a shortcut for aggression, because lasting change comes from precise training, not quick fixes. Recent research has supported a more individualized approach, showing neutering can be linked with increased stress and certain aggression related behaviors in some dogs, and that fluoxetine works best as a carefully supervised add-on to behavior work, not a replacement for it.
